DeviantART and Professionalism
I'm not entirely sure where this journal is going to go, so sorry if I'm all over the place! But this topic has been something that has been bothering me for a long time.
I see a lot of people moving on from DA when they step out into their more professional careers. For the most part, I see them shifting to Tumblr since their uploading is just simpler and in my opinion, spreads art and awareness of artists much better with the reblog system. But this isn't a post about saying how tumblr is better or worse or anything. This is about professionalism with deviantART.

I've been going over this again and again today. Should I change my user name?
Previously when I saw the option to change my name I found myself kinda irritated, almost insulted that they would insinuate I should change it. Then I thought about it more. As I am beginning to go into a professional career with real professional opportunities I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I should change my name to something more professional.
